ceramic designer-maker
I'm a Master's qualified ceramic designer-maker (and potter!) whose primary medium is clay. I've a wide range of interests in making and materials and recent practice has been focussed on developing work about seasons and landscapes, as evidenced in the Sea and Sky collection and Melting Snow tea bowls.. Sometimes, I simply like to make and re-enact traditional forms and glazes, this I call Heritage Pottery.
I previously had studio space in Penistone and on the periphery of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park - both in South Yorkshire, where I developed, made and taught ceramics. I'm currently based in Cornwall and undertaking PhD research in collaboration with University College Falmouth and the Leach Pottery, specifically looking at: "Designing 21st Century Standard Ware: The Cultural Heritage of Bernard Leach and the Creative and Economic Benefits of Digital Technologies".
