ceramic landscapes

This series of work relates to the physicality of the landscape and its seasons. The pieces were produced through processes that mimicked those of the larger landscape, referencing notions of decay, of 'things' from within breaking through and the concentration of geological forces. Consider them in terms of landscape, and let your eyes and senses explore them in such a way.

Spring Landscape Piece #1

  • facing the summit
  • looking down
  • along the furrows
  • breaking surface

Description:This is such a lively little piece! Bursting with all the colours and textures of a Spring landscape. With areas of lush glaze contrasting with matt textured cracks, it really excites the senses of touch and sight.

Size cm:17.5d 10h

Price:£95

Spring Landscape Piece #2

  • looking down
  • patches of green
  • along the furrows
  • facing the ridge

Description:This is a quieter piece, speaking of Spring in a more considered way. The landscape is dryer, and life is waiting to burst through the surface.

Autumn Landscape Piece #1

  • crumbling edge
  • landslip
  • autumn rust
  • areas of wet and dry

Size cm:d:20 h:9

Price:£95.

Autumn Landscape Piece #2

  • looking down
  • breaking ridges
  • inside and out
  • eroded ridge

Size cm:d:21.2 h:9.2

Price:£95.

Winter Landscape Piece #1

  • dry and frosty
  • broken edges
  • frosty night
  • dormant surface

Size cm:d:19 h:9.7

Price:£95.

Winter Landscape Piece #2

  • looking down
  • the surface settles
  • along the edge
  • horizon

Description:As Winter recedes, activity slowly returns to the surface. Random fissures are replaced by the marks of a deliberate plough.

Size cm:d:19 h:9.5

Price:£95.
