This commission was completed for Cannon Hall Museum’s permanent collection in 2009. They sought a contemporary ceramics piece which interpreted key events and exhibitions of their 2008 offer, especially ‘China Inspired’ which showcased Chinese cultural links through the collections of the Museum, and Leeds Museum Service, alongside works by contemporary Chinese artists. The commission involved several visits to the events programme, culminating in a workshop for families: some of their artwork features on the platter. The artwork was created using traditional brushwork and digital methods.
