The Ashmolean Museum
I gave a two hour talk and presentation at the The Ashmolean Museum of Art & Archaeology, in November 2015, titled: ‘Bernard Leach: His Life & Work – Legacy‘. It was very well attended and delivered to a great audience – thank you! The talk began with an overview of the Leach Pottery, then looked at three periods of Bernard Leach’s life before moving onto his pots and the work of David Leach, Janet Leach, and William Marshall. I then provided an overview of Leach Standard Ware and insights into the Leach Pottery’s current position. I finished with a look at recent and current Leach Pottery exhibitions and visitors. The talk was generously enriched by James Fordham of Oxford Ceramics who brought pots for handling and also made his gallery available for post-talk wine and nibbles. With thanks, also, to Jude Barrett, Education Officer, who did a great job of organising the talk and supporting me in Oxford.
